Virender Sehwag (born 20th October 1978),is one of the leading batsmen in the Indian Cricket Team. Sehwag is an aggressive right-handed opening batsman and a part-time right-arm off-spin bowler,he was originally a middle-order batsman,but after his succseful form he was added to opening order . He played his first ODI in 1999 and joined the Indian Test team in 2001. In April 2009, Sehwag became the only Indian to be honoured as the Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World|Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World for his performance in 2008, subsequently becoming the first player of any nationality to retain the award for 2009.


Virender Sehwag was bought in the first IPL in 2008 by the Delhi Daredevils,in his first innings against Rajasthan Royals he hit three consecutive fours and then the over ended he was out of the strike,but was run out getting out on only 12 of 3 balls.In the IPL his best score is 119 against Deccan Chargers and he has been playing for Daredevils since the first IPL,he was the captain of his time until in 2012 when Mahela Jayawardene joined the team and he stepped down from being the captain.Sehwag has a IPL strike rate of 163.35 and has scored only one 100 and 14 fifties as of 19 April,2013.
